Hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind is so deep, the focus goes up, and very easy to accept the suggestion. Hypnosis is a state between sleep and wakefulness. Hypnosis can be interpreted as a condition in which your behavior is more influenced by intuition than on your logic thinking. During hypnosis, your inner strength is in control and in a moment turn off the ability to think logically. And believe me, we all have both aspects of it. So, when you look at the TV and laugh at someone who ate a shoe like eating a bread, it is hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is hypnosis used for the purpose of healing therapy. hypnotherapy use hypnosis techniques to improve your subconscious mind to help find a solution.
It is clear now that there is a big difference between the hypnotized person like you often see on tv, with a hypnotherapist who helps heal people. I hope now you are able to distinguish between stage hypnosis with a hypnotherapist.
