== Description ==
Affiliate Cookie Jar is a plugin that helps you supercharge your WordPress blog as an affiliate marketing machine by allowing you to "drop" targeted affiliate cookies in pages or posts. You can set a global cookie for your whole site, or designate a cookie per page or post. Affiliate Cookie Jar uses Flash based, double redirect code for added security. Affiliate Cookie Jar can set a percentage chance that a user will get a cookie and cloaks your affiliate link by encrypting the cookie code to stop link hijacking. == Frequently Asked Questions ==
= Does the user always get the affiliate cookie? =
No. If the user has cookies blocked, 3rd party cookies blocked, or strict policies in place, then they won't get the affilaite cookie.
= Does this work with all browsers? =
Yes. Affiliate Cookie Jar has been tested on FireFox 3.66, Opera 10.53, Safari 5.0, Chrome 5.0375.70 and Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702
= Are the HTTP Referer headers removed? =
In most cases, yes. The plugin will do up to 3 redirects to remove the HTTP Referer headers. If at the end of the 3rd redirect the headers are still there, then it just redirects to the affiliate link.
= Is it undetectable to vendors? =
Nope! At least, not yet. By it's nature, the plugin gives you a cookie - so anyone visiting your site has the chance of getting the affiliate cookie. IP filtering is on the books for a future enhancement, so you'll be able to block IPs at a later date.
= Won't the vendor ban me for dropping cookies? =
It is a possibility, especially if you're dropping cookies for large networks like eBay or Amazon. However, most vendors, while not publically condoning cookie dropping, won't complain about it - they're getting sales, right?
= Am I guaranteed more commissions from my affiliate marketing? =
No. While dropping affiliate cookies certainly won't hurt, your efforts and skill in marketing, copywriting and niche selection ultimately determine your success as an affiliate marketer. Affiliate Cookie Jar just gives you an extra boost.
