Giving my clients homework tasks to improve their golf and get one of the best results from golf hypnosis sessions is among the keys to my success. It?s also something that I take advantage of to good effect with my clinical hypnotherapy clients in addition. Homework can be used very effectively with golf hypnosis recordings and with self-assigned tasks for self-hypnosis in addition.
So what do I mean by Golf Hypnosis Homework
Well don?t worry; it?s unlike going back to college. This homework is generally just a job that changes your routine or increases your awareness of something you do. I often use tasks to aid interrupt habitual patterns of behaviour or thinking. Sometimes i’ll give a role to directly intervene in a pattern of behaviour and other times the task might seem to my client as completely unrelated to their problem. Despite seeming unrelated, undertaking the task usually brings about a new understanding or allows the buyer to observe his or her problem in a new light.
The father of contemporary hypnosis, Milton Erickson, used to provide people one of the most extraordinary tasks. My favourite was when he gave a rather depressed man the task of counting the chimneys on the buildings on his walk to work day after day and to note anything unusual he saw up there. Erickson knew that after we in a favorable happy state, we are likely to hold our heads with our shoulders back. It?s difficult to feel down when you?re looking up.
Dr Karl Morris, one of Europe?s leading sports psychologists recommends that you simply keep your eyes above the flag while walking between shots for an identical reason. As Karl says, ?change your body and you may change your mind.?
Homework Task in your Own Virtual Caddy
Listen regularly to the audio recording and complete the ?Caddying? Homework Task. The purpose of this task is to provide you the experience of interested in and planning every shot other than just walking up and hitting it. As a caddy, you don?t get to hit the shot yourself and need to surrender that task to some other person ? like their unconscious ability.
So all you must do is to caddy for somebody else for a number of holes or ideally a whole round. Alternatively get somebody to caddy for you. If you?re undecided what caddying involves, then go to a tournament or watch one on TV and give attention to the interaction between player and caddy.
When you know roughly what to do then here?s a number of different approaches, in descending order of effectiveness.
1. Caddy for a golf professional ? might be difficult to prepare
2. Caddy for an excellent amateur golfer ? 4 handicap or lower
3. Caddy for a pal – the easier the player, the simpler the consequences and there could be mutual profit from the exercise
4. Watch Tiger Woods in a tournament on TV and imagine being his caddy
5. Imagine a round of golf with you as your personal caddy.
In case you work at it, you can suddenly surprise and pleasure yourself by finding your golf improving dramatically with the unconscious help of your individual virtual caddy.
